Home Delete your data

Delete your account

Two ways to do it. Both remove the same data, on the same schedule.

In the app — fastest

From Settings

  1. Open PixMap and tap your profile picture, top left.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Delete account.
  4. Confirm. Your account closes immediately.

You do not need to contact us, and you do not need to give a reason.

By email

If you can't reach the app

Lost the phone, uninstalled already, or can't sign in? Email us from any address and we'll handle it.

Include the phone number the account was registered with, so we can find it. We may ask you to confirm ownership of that number before deleting — this protects you from someone else deleting your data.

Request deletion by email

We respond within 30 days, usually much sooner.

What gets deleted

Deleting your account removes, from our active database:

  • your profile — display name, profile photo and phone number;
  • every place you saved, including titles, notes, tags, coordinates and visit history;
  • every photo you attached to a place, and every voice message you sent, from Cloud Storage;
  • your friend connections, friend requests and chat messages;
  • your ratings, comments and thanks;
  • your notification records and device push tokens;
  • your Firebase Authentication record, so the phone number can no longer sign in.

Any share links you created stop working.

How long it takes

WhatWhen it goes
Sign-in accessImmediately
Places, photos, friends, messagesWithin 30 days
Encrypted backups containing that dataOverwritten within 90 days
Crash diagnostics (not linked to your identity)Up to 90 days
Authentication audit logs (security records)Up to 12 months

What we keep, and why

A small amount of data outlives the deletion:

  • Encrypted backups. Backups exist so that an outage does not destroy everyone's data. They are rotated and overwritten within 90 days; we do not restore deleted accounts from them.
  • Authentication audit logs. Records of sign-in attempts, kept up to 12 months so we can investigate fraud and account takeover. They are not used for anything else.
  • Content other people already hold. If you shared a place with a friend and they saved a copy to their own library, that copy is now their content and stays with them. The same is true of anything already downloaded from a share link.
  • Records we are legally required to retain, for as long as the law requires.

Want a copy first?

Deletion is permanent — we cannot undo it. If you want your data before it goes, email hello@pixelbrahma.com and we will send you a JSON export within 30 days. Ask for the export before you delete.

Deleting one thing instead of everything

You do not have to delete the whole account to remove something:

  • One place — open the pin, tap the ⋯ menu, then Delete.
  • One photo — open the pin and tap the ✕ on the photo.
  • A share — revoke it from Shared Pins; the link stops working.
  • A permission — revoke location, contacts, microphone, photos or notifications in your device settings at any time. The rest of the app keeps working.
